The Start of Packed Weekends

It begins in the month of June. Weekends packed with a plethora of events. As a visitor, you have many more choices when visiting Cattaraugus County during the summer months.

This is not a normal informational post as we are giving a brief run down of the variety of events for this weekend.

Motorcycles and Live Bands at the Hollywood Happening in Gowanda from June 4-6

This is one of the area's largest 3 day events with motorcycles, live bands, contests and more. Join in the Bike Parade, show off your tattoos in the Tattoo Contest, donate and have fun on the Moose Riders' Motorcycle Charity Ride, show your skills at the Bike Rodeo, watch performances by Wacky Chad and Josh Knotts & Lea Extreme Illusions and Escapes, and enter your bike in the Ride-in Bike Show. There will also be Harley-Davidson Dealer Demo Events at Gowanda Harley-Davidson. Be sure to enter the various raffles and really be sure to enter the raffle for a motorcycle or $10,000 cash!

• Saturday - Hot Daddy Rocks, Maria Aurigema, Draw the Line (Endorsed Aerosmith Tribute Band)

Exercise outdoors at the Woods Walk and Trail Run on June 5

Run or walk through the woodlands, fields and enjoy the beauty of nature at the Pfeiffer Nature Center on June 5, 2010 in celebration of National Trails Day. Choose from 10 Mile, 10K, 5K runs/walks and 2 Mile walk or a guided nature walk.

Watch airplanes perform stunts on June 5-6

Yep ... you could watch airplanes perform stunts during the IAC's aerial aerobatic competitions at the Olean Airport on June 5-6. The first and last time an aerobatic airshow event happened here was in 1959! So bring your chair to the Olean Airport and stare into the sky to see the amazing aerial tricks.

Explore and Shop the Amish Trail during the Sneak Peek on June 5

You could win a 'treasure basket' of goodies with at least 22 participating English businesses offering a chance to win. Many businesses are offering specific activities and presentations with a free music concert, children workshops to make Amish Dolls, a wooden farm set, or make a Blue Bird house to place along a Blue Bird Trail, a dedication of a beautiful Barn quilt in the Town of Leon, displays of Amish Quilts, crafts and Baked Goods, alpaca yarn spinning and much, much more.

Who hasn't heard the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"? Well, you may hear country music's most famous fiddler play with the Charlie Daniel's Band on June 6, 2010 at the Seneca Allegany Casino

Listen to music played by Cruisin on June 6 at Salamanca's Summer Concert Series

This is the first weekend for Salamanca's Summer Concert Series at Jefferson Street Park. There is no cost for Salamanca's Summer Concert Series (FREE!) and they start at 6PM. If you have you listened to Cruisin before please leave a comment below.
