Winter is "Snow" Much Fun in the Enchanted Mountains!

Feel invigorated while cross-country skiing in Allegany State Park or snowshoeing through Pfeiffer Nature Center.  Art Roscoe Trails in Allegany State Park consist of 24 miles of winter bliss for cross country skiing and is the largest Trail System in Western New York and hosts an annual Loppet Classic XC Ski Race & Tour in February.

We have festivals galore to keep you going and out and about, with focus on the Holidays, music, or delicious treats! After Christmas, celebrate New Year's Eve right by being part of the Torchlight Parade at Holiday Valley Ski Resort followed by letting loose at the Winter Blues Festival January 9th and 10th in Ellicottville.  Find recreational fun at the Olean Area Sports and Outdoor Show being held January 17th and 18th at Good Times of Olean or the Sportman's Show at the Seneca Allegany Casino on February 21st and 22nd.  The twists, turns, thrills, and high speeds in the snow returns to Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino on Feb. 6 and 7 with AMSOIL Championship Snocross.  There are plenty of more events before and after the Holidays so check the Events Listing often!

If you follow the natural progression to slow down during the winter months or just like to stay in the warm indoors, then come in from the cold to one of our museums, galleries, or theaters.  View the various exhibits held at the Regina A. Quick Center or take in their performing art series, watch a classic play, or cheer on our college basketball team, the Bonnies in one of their games.  Learn about the Native heritage, ride into railroad past or get in touch with nature at our area's museums that offer a full day’s activity for families looking to get out of the house.  It's always a fun time at the events held at the Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca.  This year they are bringing Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blues Traveler, Lorrie Morgan and the Eli Young Band for pure excitement!  Or try your luck at the vast array of slot machines and card tables any time. 

Challenge yourself to learn a winter sport.  Ice skate at the indoor rink in Olean, test your angler skills by ice fishing at Allegany State Park, or fly down the hills while tubing.  Or grab the gang and go sledding, fun on any day in winter!  Whatever you decide to do to lose those winter blues, the Enchanted Mountains will make it happen!
