Spring & Summer

Holiday Valley's Double Black Diamond Golf Course is ready even before the snow is gone. You may see people golfing as soon as snow starts to melt!

You'll see Mountain bikers out on the trails. Check out the mountain biking trails at Holiday Valley.  Mountain bike rentals are available at the Tamarack Club. $25 for up to 4 hours or $35 for more than 4 hours. Plus tax. The Mountain bikes are Felt 980's with hydraulic disc brakes. Cruiser bikes are available at the Inn at Holiday Valley for the same rates. Call (716) 699-2345.

Treetop fun at the Sky High Aerial Adventure Park challenges you during the summer months.  Try this playground in the trees featuring a series of platforms and bridges.  You must use strategy and balance to move across the bridges made of logs, ropes, hanging chunks of wood or other materials. You choose the level of difficulty.  All participants wear a locking harness and staff on hand is trained to assist climbers.

Mister Happy Gem Mining!
Kids will love to pan for gems or fossils at the new Mister Happy Gem Mining, located at Sky High. The cost is $6 for a 3 pound bag of gems, $7 for a 3 pound bag of fossils and shark's teeth and $10 for a 5 pound bag of gems. Hours are 11AM to 6PM June 9-10, then daily starting June 15.

Targeted to children as young as 2, the experience mimics old fashioned panning for gold. Each miner purchases a bag of sand that contains either gems or fossils. The contents of the bag are dumped into a frame with a screen on the bottom. Miners wash the sand away with water that runs through a 65 foot long sluice and the treasures are left in the pan. An identification card is included for children to learn more about their gems or fossils.

You could go swimming or kayaking from the sandy beach at Spruce Lake (you have to go uphill and leave your vehicle to get there).
